Dental bonding is a method in which a tooth-colored resin material is applied using adhesives and high-intensity curing light. The process takes its name from the bonding of materials to the tooth. Bonding is generally used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of a discolored or rough tooth. Dental Bonding can be used to repair rough teeth or to use composite resin to create a new surface on the tooth, make teeth appear longer, or change the shape or color of teeth. Bonding is often used as a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings or to protect some of the tooth root that is exposed when the gums are receded.
